Parents of Tyler are asking for volunteers to help with the search for their son.

"He took his guitar, his laptop and a backpack. That is all that is missing from his room, no clothes," she said. "We're concerned. He meant to go somewhere temporarily and something happened."

The Allens think their son may have gone hiking just before the snow hit last week. They are working on putting together a search party to go through Chautauqua Park and other areas where Tyler Allen liked to hike.

Boulder police ask anyone with information on Allen's whereabouts to contact Detective Sarah Cantu at 303-441-4328. Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or 1-800-444-3776. ~ 9News.com
