The veterans highlighted in this video have not allowed their injuries to slow them down. Instead they have pushed outside and found like minded people to play with. In making this video, I wanted to focus the story on the climbers personal journey with blindness and how mountain climbing helps them live more complete lives. Though they didn't reach the summits of the two 14,000 foot peaks attempted that day, their focus was on simply moving, as well as bonding with other members on the trip. Their high point that day of 13,514 feet was a success. Steve Baskis says, "Living is moving!" Three of the veterans are blind and one is an amputee. The other veterans are volunteer guides, working as eyes for their blind brothers. The Adaptive Sports Center of Crested Butte Colorado and The Ability Experience partnered to make this "Summit Vision" trip a reality. In the words of Chris Read, "There's no other place better to test your ambition than in the mountains."
